Plasma fibroblast therapy is an aesthetic treatment that improves skin appearance by tightening it. It is a non-surgical alternative to laser, injections, or surgery and works by targeting fibroblasts. These are cells that produce collagen and protein in the dermis, which is the layer of skin just below the outermost layer.
Fibroblasts play a vital role in healing skin wounds and maintaining skin firmness and tightness. During the procedure a pen-like device discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin. The plasma tip does not directly touch the skin but releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates small holes, also known as micro-injuries, in the skin's layer. According to a 2019 article published in the PMFA journal, the heat damage from plasma fibroblast therapy breaks down proteins in the skin, encourages tissue regeneration, stimulates fibroblast activity, and causes tissue contraction (tightening).
Plasma fibroblast therapy is a non-invasive treatment that can treat various skin conditions, including acne scars, age spots, seborrheic keratosis, and wrinkled skin, including the eyelids, neck, jawline, and above the lips.
What our Lead Practitioner Hannah says about this treatment:
"I love Plasma Therapy as it can effectively treat various skin concerns, such as postpartum stomach sagging and baggy eyes. If you're experiencing skin laxity and think that surgery may be too extreme of a solution at this point, then Plasma Therapy is the perfect treatment for you."
